Peace!
Hope all is well with you. Being vegan for a few years now has drawn the ire of my family. My Father never misses a chance to ask me what I am eating and make fun of it. For me, it’s best to simply lead by example. I am not trying to change anyone’s diet forcefully, but I figured once my family sees how healthy I am in comparison, perhaps they will make a change.
Thankfully, the other parent, my mother has recently wanted to turn over a new leaf and eat healther. I received a message asking for recipes for something called the Daniel Fast. I had never heard of it, but I assumed it was something religious. Daniel was a character in the Bible who wrote about the food he ate. After looking it up, I decided this may be a great post idea for others looking to find recipes that are Daniel Fast friendly. I compiled these recipes for you so you can find what to eat on a Daniel Fast.
What Can You Eat On A Daniel Fast?
- Leavened breads & baked goods
- Sugar and sweeteners
- All solid fats
- Iodized salt
- Alcohol
- Fried foods
- Meat and animal products
- Caffeine
- Candy/Mints/Gum
- Juices
- Refined & processed food
Finding this list I realize now why my mother may have contacted me. It’s basically a plant based vegan diet. While I may not care about the origins of her interest, I am definitely on board with eating good food!
