Garden Update – What I am Growing This Summer

This is my first year getting out and really learning how to garden with more space. Previously, I had only my balcony, but this season, I decided to join a group of gardeners to form a community garden. If you follow me on Instagram you will see my garden updates in real time, but I decided to share my garden with you on the blog.

My Community Garden Plot Before

This is what I started with when I first go the plot-

What I am Growing In This Plot

  • Okra
  • Lavender
  • Habeneros
  • Sage
  • Pickling cucumbers
  • jalapenos
  • bell peppers

Using my garden planner, I mapped out where I would grow each plant. I sectioned everything into square feet, bought transplants from Home Depot, and started my plants.

What The Garden Looks Like Now

You can see the lavender, peppers, and sage in the front.

Here is the side, you can see the cucumbers

  • Plants on my blouse. I keep dreaming of gardening while I work. I know it can be a full time gig some day. Until then, a sister gotta work.
I wear headphones a lot indoors for some reason. I'm listening to affirmations, sven bomar, or jazz.
